Official Applications
Compiling the required materials and completing the official applications for these prestigious scholarships can be a daunting process. We encourage you to seek our assistance even for those scholarships that do not require university endoresment. Our office also has samples of successful student applications and essays for specific scholarships that can help guide you in the application process.
The links below direct you to the official scholarships' current online application pages. If no link exists, the scholarship's official application is not yet available for the current year.
Clinton Scholars in Dubai Program
The link above opens the official application kit for the Clinton Scholars Program. For the spring semester, the application is due on October 15 the previous semester. For the summer semester, the application is due on February 15, and for the fall semester, the application is due on March 15.
DAAD Graduate Scholarship
The application linked above is for the DAAD Study Scholarship and the DAAD Study Scholarship for Artists and Musicians. The deadline for this year is November 15th, 2008 for all discplines outside art and music, the dealine for which is November 1, 2008.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The application for this year is due October 20, 2008 but the OES requires all UT applicants to submit materials by September 22, 2008. To inform the OES of your intent to apply, please complete a pre-application by September 2, 2008. The pre-applications are available here.
Gates-Cambridge Scholarship
The link above opens a official application pdf for 2008-2009. When the application becomes available for 2009-2010, we will update this page. Please see the official website of the Gates-Cambridge Trust for more details.
German Chancellor Fellowship
For U.S. applicants, the application for the German Chancellor Fellowship is due October 15, 2008.
Goldwater (Barry M.) Scholarship
The Golwater Scholarship application for the January 2009 deadline will be available in September 2008.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship
The 2008 competiton is closed. When the 2009 application materials become available, we will update this page. For more information about the application process, visit the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation website and review the official Office of External Scholarships pre-application.
Javits (Jacob K.) Fellowship
The official Javits application will be made available in August 2008, and will be due in mid-Ocotber. Please check back here in August for the official application link. Meanwhile, for more information, please visit the Javits webpage for more details.
Marshall Scholarship
The application for the 2009 Marshall Scholarship is due October 2, 2008. Because this scholarship requires the University's endorsement, you must first submit a pre-application to the OES, due on March 31, 2008.
Mitchell (George J.) Scholarship
The application for the 2009-2010 scholarship is now available. The deadline for official applications is October 6, 2008. You must first submit a pre-application for the Mitchell to the Office of External Scholarships which is due on March 31, 2008.
Rhodes Scholarship
The 2008 application is not yet available but you can view the 2007 application by visiting the Rhodes website. Once the 2008 application is available, we will update this page. In the meantime, please see the required Office of External Scholarships pre-application, which is due March 31, 2008.
Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship
The link above opens the official pdf application form for 2009-2010. Local Rotary clubs must endorse applications at the district level. For east Tennessee applicants, the deadline for District 6780 is April 15, 2008. Please contact a local Rotary club for more details.
Truman (Harry S.) Scholarship
The 2008 competition is closed. When the 2009 application materials become available, we will update this page. For more information about the application process, visit the official Truman website and review the required Office of External Scholarships pre-application.
Udall (Morris K.) Scholarship
The 2008 competion has ended, but you can still view the 2008 application here. Once the 2009 materials become available, we will update this page. You can also review the official Office of External Scholarships pre-application, which will be due on October 31, 2008.
